      Kung Fu San Soo 

      Tim Macias began training martial arts at age 17 in Riverside California. While attending the Dave Hopkins Kung Fu San Soo Association, he was exposed to American Kick-Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Kung Fu San Soo. In 2012 Tim was awarded his black belt in Kung Fu San Soo by Master Dave Hopkins and currently holds a 7th Degree Black Belt.

      During his martial arts career, Tim has demonstrated across California and in Europe at seminars and exhibitions. In addition to Kung Fu, he has trained with professional Kick-Boxers, MMA, and Muay Thai fighters. 

      Most recently he was invited to train at the World Muay Alliance in Bangkok, Thailand. There, he studied with Master General Tunwakom and was introduced to the fundamentals of Muay Lertrit, a military style of Muay Thai Kickboxing with an emphasis on self-defense.  

      Tim has spent a significant time teaching team sports, martial arts, and even yoga. His students include children as young as 4 and adults as old as 70. Tim has also taught law enforcement professionals and women’s self-defense. After moving to Humboldt County, Ca. to pursue a Masters degree at HSU, Tim began training at Humboldt Jiu Jitsu with the legendary Carlson Gracie team where he is currently a blue belt with the organization. He teaches kids and adults all week long at Humboldt Jiu Jitsu and is also available to train students One-on-One.

       Training One-on-One is a great way to build confidence, learn skills and have a training schedule that works with your life. Training with Coach Tim ensures that you will always be the boss of your sessions and the training sessions will be tailored to your needs. 

       One-on-One sessions will include a check-in, warmups, focus on a major technique (punching/kicking/knee strikes etc.) Students will work on the details of the technique itself and then the application of the technique using pads or bags for striking. The end of the session will include anything from stretching to sparring, depending on the student. 

       Sessions are One Hour
